Luke Piatt
Guide
Luke is from Washington NH, a small town in southwest NH, where he developed an early affection for the outdoors. He was introduced to climbing at the age of sixteen when his boss gave him a pair of hand-me-down climbing shoes to play on boulders.
Following his interest in climbing, in his senior year of high school, he completed an outdoor leadership/climbing course in which he would find a love in big wall traditional climbing and the desire to become a rock guide. After graduation he enrolled in the army and served four years in the 10th Mountain division, light Infantry where he continued to grow his outdoor knowledge. After leaving the Military he pursued a career as a professional chef and continued to build his outdoor experience with mountain biking and ski touring in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
He moved to Virginia to be closer to family and has spent the last five years climbing many of the Southeast’s fine rock walls, with Seneca being his favorite. He is certified as a AMGA Single pitch Instructor and enjoys introducing the sport of outdoor climbing to others.
