Pilot Mountain, NC - ​​ Pilot Mountain is a great all around single pitch climbing crag and is known for its iconic pinnacle. The area offers a little bit of everything with top rope, sport, trad, and nearby multi-pitch climbing. The variety of terrain makes Pilot an excellent location for climbers of all levels of experience.

For these reasons, we teach many of our NC instructional courses at Pilot. For example, if you have been climbing in the gym and are ready to try out natural rock, Pilot Mountain is the place to begin. Most of the routes can be set up on top rope from the cliff. It is also located close to Moore’s Wall and can be a good warm up day prior to taking on taller multi-pitch routes.
