Virginia Ice Climbing
VA ice climbing is highly condition dependent but when the weather is favorable, excellent formations of ice can grow. The ice crags are on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Wintergreen, VA, above 3k feet.
Temperatures usually need to be below freezing for at least 5 days for ice climbing to be possible, so trips need to be scheduled within 10 days of climbing. For more predictable ice conditions, we strongly suggest planning a trip to NH with us.
