Great Falls Park, VA - Rock climbing at Great Falls offers spectacular views and terrain for all levels of climbers. In addition to great climbing, Great Falls is the perfect classroom for learning top roping, anchoring, or taking an AMGA SPI program, and is easily accessible from northern VA, MD, and Washington, DC.
Located above the Potomac River in Mather Gorge, Great Falls is one of the few climbing areas on the East Coast that allows for climbing directly above water (though there are also plenty of walls that are base accessible). Routes range from 5.1-5.10+, making the crag perfect for climbers of all ages and experience levels.
